Some things to avoid while cleansing:

**Caffeinated beverages, if a cup of coffee is a must to get started in the morning, make sure you drink 2 extra glasses of pure filtered water for each cup of coffee. You may find while cleansing you may not need that second cup of coffee to get going.

**Soft Drinks - the phospheric acid found in many sodas upsets the pH balance in our bodies.

**Alcohol - take this time to strengthen your liver.

**Red Meat - try to focus on protein that is lite and easy to digest.

**Refined Sugars - try honey, ZAND Stevia extract or 100% agave syrup instead. They will not affect your blood sugar and immune system in the same way white table sugar will.

**Artificial Sweeteners/MSG (monosodiumglutamate) - try to stay away from any ingredients not normally found in whole food. These can be stressful to the liver.
